It’s been five years since Tom Fagan joined the Azavar team. And with more than 200 signed municipal partnerships under his belt, he consistently inspires all of us to do more, try harder, and sing louder.From quite an early age, Tom performed professionally on stage and screen. He’s full of anecdotes from his life treading the boards, and brings that same polish to his work today. In his twenties, Tom made the transition from the actor’s life into hospitality management, then billings/contract management.
But he’d always had a fascination with local government, and even toyed with running for office someday. Instead, he came to Azavar. Tom started with the company as an analyst and quickly became an expert in how to help municipalities look for revenue leaks. “Our team applies a comprehensive approach to checking all sources of payables, like telecom, gas, electric, sales tax,” says Tom. “We help municipalities put the cherry on top of the ice-cream sundae and help communities get what they’re due.”
He became passionate about helping local leaders. Tom saw how top-down regulations at the state level hampered local governments from taking full control over their budgets. “Azavar offers communities a real service that doesn’t stretch staff,” he states. “We help local governments overcome hurdles imposed on them to get funds needed to deliver programs.” Maybe it’s from his years delighting audiences, but Tom is devoted to fulfilling promises and expects the same from his peers. “The people here at Azavar care about quality. Doing it right the first time. Taking the extra step for the folks in local governments,” says Tom.
